From Wednesday 19th October to Friday 21 October 2011 Wairakei Resort, Taupo played host to the 2011 Gas New Zealand Industry Forum. For the first time the forum was a joint venture between the LPGA, GANZ and NZIGE, hosting up to 150 attendees for three days of technical workshops, seminars and a range of networking events.
Lordco would firstly like to applaud the organisers for an extremely successful, educational and entertaining event run at an extremely high standard. We would also like to thank all of the speakers, as well as members, and non-members, who attend the forum and helped to make it such a great 3 days.
The technical workshops and seminars were very insightful and entertaining. They helped to paint a clear overall picture of the past, present and future of the gas industry in New Zealand, while also educating on more specific aspects of the industry and closely related subjects.
The forum also presented an exceptional opportunity to network within, and between, the different sectors of the industry. Whether visiting a geothermal plant, golfing, fishing, over dinner, or enjoying a drink, the forum was an excellent opportunity for all members and associations to come together and gain an understanding of one-another and their part in this industry, meet new people and catch up with old friends.
Lordco was lucky enough to secure a trade display during the forum. This proved very popular with the Acting Minister of Energy Hon. Hekia Parata, who was also kind enough to give Lordco a special mention in her opening address to the forum. But it is to all who came and spoke to us or had a look at the vast range of products we had on display, that we thank, and look forward to seeing or hearing from in the near future.
We hope that this event can continue to attract such a vast and interesting group of people and that it will continue to run long into the future.
